Meet Hailey LaBond, the owner of The Space Dance Co. Hailey’s passion for dance and movement has shaped both her artistic and professional journey. After competing throughout her youth, she continued her education at Western Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.
During her time at Western, Hailey trained extensively in jazz, modern, and ballet aesthetics under respected faculty members including Monique Haley, Whitney Moncrieff, Carolyn Pavlik, and David Curwen. She also had the opportunity to perform in works choreographed by Melanie George and Carlos Funn. Alongside her collegiate training, Hailey remained active in the local dance community, further expanding her experience in hip-hop and tap.
Hailey’s academic studies also led her into the field of strength and conditioning. She completed internships with Western Michigan Broncos football and KAT Strength and Conditioning, where she developed her skills as a strength and conditioning coach. This experience inspired her to pursue professional certifications, and she earned her Personal Training and Nutrition Coach certifications through National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Hailey is passionate about helping dancers train smarter and stay healthy throughout their careers. She excels in developing injury prevention and cross-training programs specifically designed for dancers, focusing on strengthening areas of weakness and supporting the physical demands placed on dancers today. By combining her backgrounds in dance and exercise science, Hailey is committed to creating a training environment that empowers dancers to grow artistically while maintaining long-term physical well-being.
Her dedication to her students and her vision for holistic dancer development continue to shape The Space Dance Co. into a supportive and inspiring place for dancers to train, grow, and pursue their passion.
